Dark tones, classic hip hop, punk rock, and some of the most vulnerable, clever songwriting you can find period. The love for the craft has somehow stayed with the hardships and obstacles. Live is the artist's album, meaning the language and artistry displayed will likely be understood by the artist first. In an attempt to be more understood, You have songs like "Struggle Rapper" where Tavares performs a sort of pop arranged song with vintage boom-bap offbeat live drums and samples, with emotional lyrics about being a failing artist struggling to make it, while songs like "Live" intro where Tavares just sings "F**K WHAT THEY ALL SAY" over and over, which usually would come across vulgar, but you can feel the pain and doubt in the performance and it creates a somehow innocent atmosphere. Overall LIVE has a unique sound and way of getting the emotion through to listeners sonically and is full of puns and clever overall schemes EX: "Wait Ya Turn" a song about Tavares' fairly new love for marijuana, only Tavares went as far as making sure the song even ended at 4:20. The thoughts from this album were put together for over 4 years with various takeaways and add ons to the project, making it so well rounded in its creativeness, it makes it nearly impossible to not be inspired artistically.
